Where engineering + DESIGN intersect

built on collaboration

built on collaboration

The vision for the Augmented Reality Center was brought to life through a partnership between Oakland University, the College for Creative Studies and founding industry partners.

This collaborative endeavor impacts students at both universities, providing them with exceptional educational, research and experiential learning opportunities.

This experience advances the academic journey for engineering and art and design students, aligns them directly with industry partners, and prepares them for the highest levels of success following graduation.

  • Augmented reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the physical world that is achieved through the use of digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli and delivered via technology.

Physical reality and digital content are combined in a way that enables interaction with and among real-world and virtual objects.

  • Virtual reality is a simulated 3D environment that enables users to explore and interact with a virtual surrounding in a way that approximates reality, as it is perceived through the users' senses.
